gratuitous pictures of the girls

I used to think my mom was crazy when she would say "you'll always think your kids are the cutest ever because they're yours." I always figured I'd be smart enough or honest enough to admit to having ugly kids, but I was wrong... my girls could be butt ugly for all I know but to me they're the most adorable little people to ever walk (or just wiggle around on) the planet.

Tesla smiles more than any baby I've ever seen... even when she only a week old I would smile and talk to her and she'd smile back at me and make cute noises. I know they say that newborn babies never smile and "it's just gas" but I think that's baloney. 

Layla is so silly and clever... if she sees me hold up the camera to take a picture of myself in the car she immediately starts making silly faces from the backseat. I certainly didn't teach her to photobomb but she's mastered the art.

Trying to potty train Layla has been a total losing battle for me. I have literally tried everything and she knows exactly what to do but it's like she just prefers to go in her pull-up and then ask me to change her. However, we had a moment of success this morning and this giant bunny lollipop was her reward... needless to say, she was very excited to eat it. 

I really wanted a picture with both the girls today but Layla refused to cooperate. She was too busy picking dandelions to stop for a photo, so this was the best we could do!

Tesla looked so pretty in her little vintage pantsuit today... it belonged to me when I was a wee bairn! Layla wore it once too but I didn't manage to get any pictures of her in it, unfortunately.  

A very rare peaceful moment... Tesla likes to be held 99% of the time. Sometimes I'm envious of how cozy she looks, all bundled up and fast asleep. Oh, to be so small.
